Residential Developments

RGP Architects Ltd has extensive experience for over 60 years in the roles of Design Team Leader and Lead Consultant with the design of individual dwellings and housing estate developments. We also undertake many other types of conversion and refurbishment works, including Listed Buildings.

As Architects, we are able to produce innovative and sensitive designs to meet our Client expectations whether in urban or rural settings. Good design has enabled RGP Architects to achieve numerous difficult planning consents in sensitive locations, such as Coastal Preservation Zones and Conservation Areas.

RGP Architects is committed to delivering innovative, sustainable design solutions for all Client sectors.

Public Enjoyment

Designing properties for public us, for leisure, recreation, tourism or retail, brings into play many additional areas for consideration. RGP Architects is fully aware of the need to provide excellent visual presentations for consultation for committees and the public before some projects can proceed.

Public and leisure buildings have become a more prominent part of the RGP Architects portfolio.

The public and leisure sectors are interesting and challenging. They require high standards of design and detailing to suit the Client briefs and specialist disciplines including building service, structural engineering and interior design.

RGP Architects has successfully delivered a wide range of projects including: multi-use sports halls, gyms, tennis venues, sporting club facilities, spa retreats, hotels and guest houses, tourist information centres, museums, visitor attractions, cafes, restaurants, multi use halls and auditoria, community facilities, town council offices, public and private swimming pools, holiday camp facilities, pubs, clubs and theatres.

RGP Architects provide creative and commercially focused feasibility and planning services.

Our successful track record in guiding complex development projects through all stages of the planning system is proven.

Our strength lies in understanding our Client’s commercial objectives as well as the design process and the planning system; we know what is required to succeed in taking development concepts from initial advice, through the planning process, to a successful outcome.

Projects include: general office and employment developments, pharmaceutical factories, warehousing, distribution centres, research and development facilities, manufacturing and packaging plants, general industrial units, district heating systems for residential and commercial schemes, and retail  premises.

Community Spirit

Serving the community is the aim of many clients, and serving its clients with the same high level of care is the priority of RGP Architects. It is important to understand the impression that the public will receive when they enter a community venue- whether it is for a Tourist Information Centre with a heavy footfall of general public, or a Surestart Children’s Centre for parents and small children, every project is unique.

Some projects may require the redevelopment of an existing derelict premises with the need for innovative internal layouts and appealing spaces. Other projects can require sensitive consideration for the use of internal space, whilst protecting the frontage of an historic listed building. Often these projects can benefit from the assistance of RGP Architects in funding bid applications. Careful selection of materials and design detailing can develop buildings with ‘very good’ BREEAM rating or better.

RGP Architects has successfully delivered numerous such projects, including community halls and multi-use facilities, including police and parish council offices, town council offices with community facilities, Surestart welfare facilities, tourist information, National Parks and countryside centres, museums, visitor attractions, funicular railway facilities and sports club facilities.
