Industry Sectors

The team at RGP Architects has a wealth of experience within the industry and have worked on projects in a variety of sectors over the years.

These include, but are not limited to  the following sectors:

  • Residential
  • Commercial
  • Community
  • Conservation

Residential

From extensions on individual dwellings to large housing estate developments, RGP Architects has offered architectural consultancy and design services for residential properties for over 60 years. We carry out all types of new build, conversion and refurbishment works, including on listed buildings.

Over the years we have fostered a first-class reputation for our creative designs, achieving numerous difficult planning consents in sensitive locations such as coastal preservation zones and conservation areas. We are committed to delivering innovative, sustainable design solutions across all client sectors and in both urban and rural settings.

Commercial

RGP Architects provide creative and commercially focused feasibility and planning services.

Our successful track record in guiding complex development projects through all stages of the planning system is proven.

Our strength lies in our understanding of our clients’ commercial objectives as well as the design process and the planning system. We know what’s required to succeed in taking development concepts from initial advice, through the planning process, to a successful outcome.

Projects include general office and employment developments, pharmaceutical factories, warehousing, distribution centres, research and development facilities, manufacturing and packaging plants, general industrial units, district heating systems for residential and commercial schemes, and retail and hospitality premises.

Community

Public and leisure buildings are a prominent part of RGP Architects’ portfolio. These sectors can require high standards of design and detailing and specialist disciplines, including building service, structural engineering and interior design.

Some projects require the redevelopment of existing derelict premises, adding innovative internal layouts and appealing spaces. Others involve the sensitive redesign of internal spaces for modern enjoyment while retaining and protecting the frontage of historic listed buildings.

Often these projects can benefit from our assistance in funding bid applications. Careful selection of materials and design detailing can also develop buildings with a ‘very good’ BREEAM rating or better.

Community projects we’ve worked on include municipal buildings such as police and council offices, tourist information and countryside centres, museums, visitor attractions and sports club facilities.

Conservation

Working to restore or breath new life into existing buildings is a fundamental part of what we do, and we’ve built up a breadth of experience working on listed buildings.

We understand the nuances and sensitivities that the planning of these type of projects require and work with clients to help them understand heritage planning policies and conservation techniques.

From smaller listed houses to large historic estates, we can help navigate the restoration of historic residential and commercial properties, so they are fit for the 21st century.
